Beginners Guide to Candle Magick

Candle magick can be extremely powerful when used in rituals or altars and when creating spell jars. They add an extra layer of protection, affirmation, and universal requests. Each color of candle holds specific properties and meanings. Understanding what each color brings can greatly benefit in manifesting what you want and impact the effectiveness of your spells. Some candles do overlap in properties and what they can bring to you, so choose what one you feel the most connected to.

It’s important to note that you should cleanse the candle with sage before each use. Then, while lighting the candle, charge it with your intentions to increase the effectiveness. If using it for spell jars, let it heat and begin to melt, then delicately tip it, allowing the wax to drip onto the lid until sealed. When using for rituals or placing in altars, just remember to never leave the burning candle unattended. Lastly, never blow out your candles, but snuff them out instead.
