Implementing forms of witchcraft into your daily routine can be extremely valuable for you and your practice. It can also boost your energy and create a sense of productivity to sprinkle a bit of magick into everyday life. However, if every day feels like too much time or commitment for you right now, these rituals can be practiced across longer stretches of time—it’s completely up to you and your journey. Here are six ways to implement simple witchy rituals into your life.
Meditation
The easiest ritual to follow is the practice of morning or nightly meditation. This is just taking time to express your gratitude for what life has offered you, visualizing what you would like to come your way, and balancing your energy and chakras. This is time for solitude and reflection. You can also use this time to practice forms of manifestation and daily affirmation.
Kitchen Magick
Kitchen magick is a great way to enhance your daily practice if you are an avid foodie and cook often. When beginning to make your meal, light a few candles (if possible) and give thanks to each ingredient for nurturing you and being accessible to you. Put intention with each step, whether chopping, stirring, grating, etc. These can be intentions such as “This meal will give me the nutrients needed to strengthen my mind and body” or “This meal will provide me with the energy needed to complete [abc].” If this interests you, you can also take it a step further by implementing herbs with properties that you need for that day, such as adding basil to your dish when you need to brighten your mood.
Connect to Nature
When not rushing to get from point A to point B, connecting with nature is a great way to practice gratitude for the universe and life you live. When outside, allow yourself to truly observe everything that’s happening around you. Pay attention to the beauty of the flowers, listen to the birds, feel the breeze on your skin. Ground yourself with Mother Nature. If you have extra time, use your practice by softly touching the plants and allowing them to share their energy and light with you. Give thanks to the world around you.
Dream Journals
If you have bright, vivid dreams, but find yourself forgetting them an hour after you’ve woken up, keeping a dream journal can help you discover your wants, needs, and understand what the universe is trying to tell you. Keep a journal and writing utensil beside your bed (you can also use your phone, but may get easily distracted, so it’s not recommended). Almost immediately upon waking up, write down your dream(s) in as much detail as you possibly can. You can read this journal whenever you want to analyze the symbolism and messages, or have moments of realization or deja vu.
Tarot Readings
If you’re interested in getting more into tarot, a great daily ritual to have is to pull a tarot card every morning. Put your energy into the cards and ask the deck either what lesson you need to learn or what expectations you should have for that day. This will help with slowly memorizing your tarot cards while also building a connection with them. If you do choose this method, please do not use the card you pull as an “end all, be all.” If the card projects something negative, don’t go into the day with dread, but rather with understanding that something may be coming your way, and that it’s all for a reason.
Cleansing
Lastly, cleansing can be a super easy ritual that can be as constant as you see fit. Cleanse your crystals, jewelry, room, body, etc. when you want to get rid of any negative energies and emotional blockages. You can do this through sage burning, water, sunlight, moon light (which works best with a full moon), or verbal affirmation. If you choose this method and are working with crystals or jewelry, please read up on what type of cleansing is recommended, as sometimes water or sunlight can negatively affect these items.
